Hyundai recently took the wraps off the Grand Creta for South Africa. The company’s new SUV for South Africa is very similar to the Alcazar sold in India. Like a few other Hyundai products, the Grand Creta will be made-in-India and will be exported to South Africa. Essentially, an export version of the Alcazar sold in India, the Grand Creta is 200mm longer than the standard 5-seat SUV and has a 150mm longer wheelbase, allowing for an additional third-row of seats. The Hyundai Grand Creta will be available in two trims namely, Executive and Elite. The Elite trim comes with equipment such as a 360-degree camera, a 10.2-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and 17-inch wheels. The SUV is identical to the India-spec Alcazar in terms of styling and specifications. Some of the exterior details include trio beam automatic LED headlamps, LED fog lamps, LED tail lamps, and twin-tip exhaust. It also offers the same set of features. Standard features include ABS with EBD, ESC, VSM, HAC, TPMS, auto-dimming inside rearview mirror, rear parking camera, and ISOFIX mounts. One difference between the Grand Creta and the Alcazar is that the Grand Creta comes with a beige and black dual-tone interior whereas the Alcazar comes with a cognac brown theme with piano black inserts.South African buyers can opt for either a 159hp, 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine or a 115hp, 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine. A 6-speed manual gearbox will come as standard but buyers can opt for a 6-speed torque-converter automatic.
